No

|
- Make sure the TV is set
to channel 3. If you need to change the
cable box to work on channel 4, see the
instructions below.
- If you receive
only channels 5 and 6, you will need to
change the
STD/HRC
mode. Consult your
owners manual for instructions.
|
| My
Descrambler won't descramble some channels. |
- Make sure you
push the BPS or Select or F2 button
to activate the video descrambler function
for that channel.
|
| No
picture (picture tube is black) but sound is ok
stopped descrambling
|
- On rare occasions the
video card does not initialize when the cable
box is plugged into the power. The fix for this
is to unplug the cable box from the power
strip and wait about 10 seconds. Then plug the
power cord back in. The video will now come in
perfectly.
|
|
Only the basic channels
are received
|
- The cable box comes
shipped to work in STD mode. You most
likely need to switch to HRC
mode.
- You may be on a system
where you are only paying for basic service. In
this case, you will need to upgrade to EXTENDED
BASIC SERVICE. Remember the cable box must have a signal to
descramble. If the cable company is not sending
a signal, the descrambler has nothing to descramble!
- Make sure you
push the BPS(clearmax/ranger 9000)
or MEM2(clearmaster) or Select(matrix)
or F2(ranger 5000) button
to activate the video descrambler function
for that channel.
|
|
Picture colors are inverted
(blue and white)
|
- Using the M1
or V1 or Select or
F1 button will change
your picture mode from inverted to normal.
- If many channels appear
inverted, you may need to change the STD/HRC
mode.
|
|
Picture is grainy or
snowy
|
- Press the CFT
button and then use Ft+ and FT- to
fine tune the picture.
- If all channels are
snowy try changing the STD/HRC
mode.
- If the signal from the
cable company is very weak, sometimes installing
an amplifier (available at Radio Shack or
Walmart) solves
this problem.
|
|
TV screen turns completely
blue
|
- Check to ensure that you
have hooked up the cables correctly. A
"blue screen" is an indication that
the TV is not receiving a signal.
- Sometimes when the
signal strength changes, your TV or VCR thinks
that there is no signal. If this occurs,
try your cable box on another TV or do not hook
it up through your VCR.
- If the signal from the
cable company is very weak, sometimes installing
an amplifier (available at Radio Shack) solves
this problem.

Questions |
Answers |
| How
do I use my universal remote with the cable box? |
- According to the
manufacture there is a licensing fee associated
with a universal code. The manufacture
did not want to add an additional $10
to the cost of the box so as of now the
only box we sell that is compatible witha
universal remote (and thus tivo or replay
tv) is the matrix. It uses a general
instrument or jerrold code.
|
| I
can't find my favorite channels. What
happened? |
- The location of some
channels may change, especially if you have a
2-line cable system. You will need to look
for these channels in a new location. You
may want to add them to the Favorite Channel
memory (see the Owners Manual).
|
|
How do I use the
Parental Control feature? |
- In the Owners Manual it
explains how to use Parental Control. The
default pin number (code) is 1234.
Use the PG +/- button to add or
remove channels from the channel listing. Us the
PG LOCK button to turn the Parental
feature on and off (using the 4 digit code).
- If you change the pin
number be sure to write it down! All settings
are in non-volatile memory– turning off the
power will not reset the pin number. You will
have to use the factory reset code to erase a
forgotten pin number!
|
| How
do I reset the box back to its factory settings? |
- To reset the box back to
its factory default settings, thereby clearing
the Parental Code, STD/HRC, Fine Tuning
Adjustments, Favorite Channels, etc. you must
first turn the box off using the remote. Then
enter the reset code of: 7396468 - Clearmax,
Davinci and Trinity, not available on
Clearmaster 9000. Note:
Once this is done any custom settings you have
made will be lost!
|
| How
do I get surround sound? |
- In the Owners
Manual it says that the volume level on
the descrambler must be at least
halfway up to process stereo and all the
way up (maximum) to process surround sound. However
surround sound is not available on all
models. Read item description to see if
surround sound is available on your unit.
